Vivino: discovering and rating
Vivino is strong at discovery: scan a label, see the average rating and a price indication. Its cellar management is basic, without bottle-level drinking windows and without export. If you use Vivino in the shop to judge a bottle, Wijnfeld is where you manage that bottle afterwards, with location, price and drinking window.
CellarTracker: the standard for collectors
CellarTracker has the largest database of community tasting notes and drinking windows and unlimited inventory. It is feature-rich and, for many, rather technical. Wijnfeld is simpler in design and adds the sommelier: instead of searching through lists, you ask a question.
Oeni, Viniou and VinoCell: cellar management with a scanner
These apps combine a label scanner with a large wine database and sometimes a visual cellar. Wijnfeld also has a label scanner and cellar locations, but emphasises advice: drinking priority, food pairing, taste profile and buying advice, all available on WhatsApp.
What makes Wijnfeld different
Bottle-level inventory with a history of every change. A sommelier that answers only from your data and never invents stock or prices. WhatsApp as a full channel, with secure number linking. A personal taste profile from your own tasting notes. Privacy by design: no public profiles, no shared database, export whenever you like.
Who is Wijnfeld less suited for?
If you mainly want a huge database of other people's ratings or price comparison between shops, Vivino and Wine-Searcher remain the better choice. Wijnfeld is about your own cellar, not the wine world as a whole.
Switching
Export your current list as CSV, map the columns to the Wijnfeld template and import up to 1,000 rows at a time. Fill in missing details later with the label scanner.
