About Ruinart
Founded in 1729, Ruinart is widely regarded as the oldest Champagne house and is based in Reims. The house is especially associated with Chardonnay and with ageing wines in its historic chalk cellars, known as crayères. Ruinart Champagnes generally favour finesse, freshness and a supple texture.
This profile was written by the Wijnfeld digital sommelier from generally known information about the producer, the region and the grapes. Details may vary by vintage. Published on 9 September 2026.
